Ticks are a bloodsucking pest that is less than 1cm long. They are members of the arachnid family as they are very closely related to spiders. Ticks cannot fly or jump, but they can latch onto fur, clothing, or skin. These pests will hitchhike on pets or household pests like rats and mice in order to find way inside a home. They will not generally be able to get into a home by themselves unless there are many gaps in the building, such as with a cabin.

Ticks are known to be able to spread over 15 different types of viruses and can easily cause infections. The most common of these ailments is Lyme disease. If untreated Lyme disease can affect a person’s heart and nervous system. If discovered, t is very important to remove ticks quickly to try to prevent them from spreading any more fluids inside their new host.
